Artist Statement
As an interdisciplinary artist, my work reflects on terrains and home spaces that shelter and shape; it considers consumption and climate, and recognizes that we often only address global issues when they become personal. With an emphasis on ritual, collection, and preservation, my multimedia practice relies heavily on material and process-based experimentation. My work is often site-specific; I am interested in the relationship between identity and landscape, and the way that memories often center on distinct geographies. My work reveals the evolution and accumulation of structures and behaviors over time. How are memories, foundations, and landscapes shaped and altered over time? How can we trust them?
